In a multi-cloud world, how do you move data?
96 percent of businesses expect to use several clouds by 2021. Companies are transforming themselves into "digital" enterprises, with artificial intelligence at the heart of their operations. However, moving an existing architecture to a new cloud location is unlikely to be straightforward.
A data fabric to navigate multiple clouds
A data fabric is a visual depiction of the architecture that will be used to manage data assets. It's based on the idea that, while business processes evolve, the data that underpins them should remain constant. Data fabrics can aid in the avoidance or mitigation of data silos, low dependability, and scalability issues.
Consider three scenarios in which a company's workloads, apps, and data may be distributed over many clouds.
Companies are worried about how they will link all of these clouds to their existing IT infrastructure. Gartner has established three guiding principles to assist organisations in developing and executing a data strategy for migrating to and functioning in a multi-cloud environment.
Move apps, workloads, and data more effectively is one of the three concepts.
What should you do first?
