Motivation implies having the encouragement to do something. It is true that people don’t get success in just one try. Sometimes they face obstacles and difficulties that make it harder to achieve the desired goals. But if a person is motivated enough, they can find success in whatever they do. This is what had happened with Erica Feidner.

ERICA FEIDNER-

Erica Feidner is a well-known Piano matchmaker. She was awarded the title of Steinway & Sons' top global sales representative for eight consecutive years. Her sales techniques were outstanding and this caused her to sell pianos worth over $40 million dollars. But to accomplish what she did she had to face her fair share of obstacles too.

Erica had a keen interest in piano from a very young age. She started playing piano when she was three years old. Her family consisted of very talented pianists and helped her develop her skills. She received a scholarship to attend Juilliard School. The school had a program weekly and she traveled to New York City from Vermont. The first time she ever played in an orchestra was when she was just eleven years old. She even started teaching how to play the piano very young. She won many awards for performing piano pieces namely Miss Vermont Scholarship Pageant and BFA at SUNY Purchase.

CHANGE OF CAREER PATH-

In 1987, Erica had a little accident where she injured her thumb. This restrained her from playing piano any further. This marked a changing time in her career. Although she now could not pursue what she had initially planned for herself that did not stop her. Erica Feidner started teaching piano. That was also the time in which she sold her “Miss America” piano.

Not being able to play piano now, Erica decided to continue with her studies. She entered Baruch College and pursued a degree in MBA. When she was in college that was time that she also started selling pianos there. She started working for the Bosendorfer piano dealership in NYC as a salesperson selling the piano.

That was when she realized her talent for selling the piano. She realized that she has a talent for helping people match with their pianos.

After her graduation, she joined Steinway and Sons situated in New York City. She started working there as a sales representative. She gained a lot more experience and knowledge about selling pianos. She worked very hard and very soon became one of the top sales representatives, not only in the company but also worldwide.

She became the top sales representative in the world for eight consecutive years worldwide, all because of her hard work and dedication. She later decided to found her own company and called it “Piano matchmaking LLC” in the year 2005.

But music is where her passion lies, so to help people connect with music more and more she launched her own video game. This game is for people of all age groups. People playing it will be able to learn piano very quickly.

 LEARNING-

Despite facing obstacles in her path, Erica was motivated to continue further. She worked hard and made her career in sales after she lost her career in playing music. She kept herself motivated even in difficult times. This is one of the greatest lessons anyone can learn from her experiences.
